The next stop was only a few miles further on at Gloucester Staverton Airport. The Jet Age Museum. This museum concentrates on Gloster aircraft and the development of the jet engine
They have a number of Gloster Meteors here including NF14 WS807 and F8 WH364
There is also a beautifully preserved Javelin FAW9 XH903
Attached to the hanger is the cockpit section of Vulcan B2 XM569. This cockpit is open for tours and shows just how cramped the cockpit was.
Staverton is an active airfield so I did a quick drive around to see what was there. The first thing I saw was this brightly coloured Hughes 500D G-IICP
Nearby was this A-75 Stearman G-PTBA.
Other planes on the airfield were a Pitts S-2A G-IBII, a very smart PA-46 Malibu Mirage G-CYFR, an American registered Cirrus SR22 GTS and an Isle of Man registered Cessna 525 Citation M-MSVI
